Marino las Baulas National Park, Guanacaste<\/h2>\n

Marino las Baulas de Guanacaste National Park is one of Costa Rica\u2019s most important sea turtle nesting sites.<\/p>\n

Located on Costa Rica\u2019s Pacific Coast in the Northern Province of\u00a0<\/span>Guanacaste<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>near the tourist town and surf mecca\u00a0<\/span>Tamarindo<\/a>, this national park is a significant Leatherback sea turtle nesting spot in the world.<\/p>\n

Created in 1990, this national park was made in order to protect the endangered Leatherback turtles, who come every year to nest on the shores of the beautiful Playa Grande.<\/p>\n

Location & Size of the Park<\/h2>\n

Encompassing an area of roughly 445 hectares of mangrove swamps and coastline, the Marino las Baulas National Park is made up of the four beaches,\u00a0<\/span>Playa Grande<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Playa Langosta<\/a>, Playa Ventanas and Playa Carbon.<\/p>\n
